Simulation Analysis of Vibration Characteristics of the Submerged-propeller Shaft Coupling System

Abstract The vibration characteristics of the submerged-propeller shaft coupling system are studied in this paper. Firstly, Based on fluid structure interaction theory acoustics wave equation, analysis model propeller-shaft under water is established and computed. And analysed by comparing system. results show that natural presents complicated strong or weak characteristics. Comparing frequencies system, all modes corresponding to low frequency range. there transverse coupled near propeller’s 1st-order frequency, which appears as shaft’s 2nd-order vibration. That indicates easy be excited order propeller. Which may cause excitation force easily transmitted hull through bearings non-uniform flow, resulting severe stern.
